Lilly Contributes Chapter in New Book on Child Migrant Detention

Fordham GSS Assistant Professor Jenn Lilly, Ph.D., contributed a chapter to a new book detailing the topic of child migrant detention by the U.S. government.

The book, titled Kids in Cages, combines voices from the legal realm, the academic world, and the on-the-ground experiences of activists and practitioners. The authors detail the harms of child migrant detention, highlight the youth’s experience surviving this treatment, and explore pathways for advocacy.

Lilly’s chapter is titled “I’m Not an Animal. I’m a Girl.”: Recognizing Resistance in Latinx Migrant Youths’ Testimonios of Being Detained by Customs and Border Protection.”
