On Monday, April 17, the New York Academy of Medicine’s (NYAM) Social Work Section held its 14th Annual Student Night, where students from eight NYC social work schools presented their recent research.
MSW student Chelsea Bonosky, GSS ’23 (2nd person from right in picture above), represented Fordham and presented on the topic Benefits of Movement Interventions: Prevention and Rehabilitation. Bonosky is completing her field internship with the United Nations (UN) field group. Fellow UN interns Michael Buckhout and Julia Larock also attended the event. GSS Associate Dean and Professor Elaine Congress, Ph.D., co-chair of the Social Work Section, moderated the program. GSS Ravazzin Center Endowed Chair and Professor Janna Heyman and GSS Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Linda White-Ryan, Ph.D., are also members of the Social Work Section of NYAM. This organization focuses on public health issues in NYC and beyond.
“It was an honor to be selected to present at NYAM on the importance and benefits of movement interventions,” Bonosky said. “Coming to this advanced degree with a unique background as an artist, it felt like both passions intersected. Having my UN Cohorts and friends there to support me made the evening very special.”
Congratulations, Chelsea!
