GSS Student Publishes in The New Social Worker Magazine

Angela M. Pokorny, current GSS student and FCRH alumna, recently published a piece titled “Listen to the Zebras: Observing Rare Disease Day” in The New Social Worker.

In the article, Pokorny details her experience living with Trimethylaminuria, a rare disease in which a person “lacks an important enzyme in the body … responsible for oxidizing the blood following the consumption of foods containing choline.”

In support of the publication, Associate Professor Lauri Goldkind, Ph.D., tweeted of Pokorny, “She’s #brave and #humble and will be an excellent social worker!”
