Dr. Jordan DeVylder to Present at 24th Annual Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science International Symposium

Fordham GSS Associate Professor Jordan DeVylder, Ph.D. will present his research at this year’s 24th Annual Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science International Symposium on March 17 in Tokyo, Japan.

The theme of this year’s symposium is “Early Detection and Social Intervention for Psychosis and Suicide”. Dr. DeVylder’s research presentation will be titled “Marginalization and Suicidal Behavior among Youth with Psychotic Experiences: Epidemiological Evidence and Novel Interventions”.

DeVylder will present his research alongside colleagues from King’s College London, Edinburgh University, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science.

DeVylder was a 2021-2022 Fulbright Fellow to study emerging psychotic symptoms in Japan and maintains a Visiting Professor affiliation at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science. His research on the clinical significance of early psychotic symptoms has been published in leading social work and psychiatry journals, including JAMA Psychiatry, World Psychiatry, and Schizophrenia Bulletin.
