On Monday, September 18, Michael Dowling, GSS ’74 and CEO of Northwell Health, welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Staten Island University Hospital.
According to silive.com, Zelenskyy visited the New York hospital to “thank staff for its ongoing support and care for 18 wounded Ukrainian soldiers.” Zelenskyy also presented Dowling with the Ukrainian Order of Merit, a special distinction “awarded to individuals for outstanding achievements, to honor his exceptional leadership in providing vital medical care to Ukraine.”
“Thank you, President Zelenskyy, for taking the time to visit,” Dowling said on Twitter. “What happens in Ukraine is important to all of us at @NorthwellHealth, and it’s our privilege to help in any way we can.”
