Alumni Spotlight: Teresa Gaetani, GSS ’17

0
After completing her MSW at Fordham GSS in 2017, Teresa got her social work license and began working in her hometown as an evaluator in the local crisis center. She was immersed into an incredible environment with plenty of learning opportunities. In 2020, she made the switch to the outpatient world and has been in love with doing therapy with adults, specializing in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). In May 2022, Teresa obtained her LCSW.
In August 2022, she left her workplace at a local hospital system and started working for a not-for-profit, Behavioral Health Services North, Inc., working from home in Binghamton, NY as a telehealth clinician. She serves a rural population in Warren/Washington counties.
“I thoroughly enjoy the work I do as a therapist and can’t wait to see where my career goes with this amazing company,” Teresa said.
“My time at GSS not only prepared me for clinical work, but it helped to highlight my passion for working with adults in mental health,” she continued. “My time at GSS set me up for success in my current position through rigorous training in assessing, diagnosing, psychotherapeutic modalities, and diving into conversations around issues within social work practice. Through this, I am able to take a look at my own practice and ensure I am providing the best quality of care to those I serve. I feel proud to say I obtained my MSW from Fordham University at Lincoln Center.”

Thanks so much for all of your great work and for keeping in touch, Teresa! #ForeverARam
