As part of the Graduate School of Social Service’s “Class of 2025 Changemakers” series, we’re spotlighting graduating students transforming their professional paths through the Master of Social Work (MSW) program.

Inspired by his mother, a paraprofessional, Giancarlos came to GSS to pursue a career working with children in a therapeutic setting. After graduation on May 20, not only will Giancarlos accomplish this goal with a full-time role as a Fee-for-Service Clinician at the Mental Health Providers of Western Queens—where he completed his second year internship—but he’ll be doing it in his hometown of Queens, NY, serving the community that gave him so much.

Social work changes lives, and not just those of the clients we serve. Giancarlos entered the MSW program with a purpose and is leaving on a mission.
