About Dr. Zhai:
Dr. Fuhua Zhai received his Ph.D. and Master of Philosophy from Columbia University School of Social Work, Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) School of Social Work, and bachelor’s degree in social work from China Youth University for Political Sciences. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook and as a post-doctoral research scholar at both New York University and Columbia University. His research interests include early childhood education and interventions, parenting and parental education, cultural values and childrearing practices, child maltreatment and child welfare, and cross-national child and family policies and programs. His work has been supported by multiple research grants and published in peer-reviewed journals in the fields of developmental psychology, economics, social policy, education, demography, and social work. He has taught courses in the areas of research methods, foundation and advanced statistics, human behavior and the social environment, and experimental and quasi-experimental designs.
About the Strategic Research Consortium on Global Studies:
The goal of the Global Studies Consortium is to support Global Studies researchers and research initiatives to foster interdisciplinary and transnational collaborations in Global Studies research. The Global Studies Consortium at Fordham University provides an infrastructure to integrate existing Global Studies research initiatives at Fordham and to enable future Global Studies research.
